I’ve made this cherished homemade cranberry sauce with fresh cranberries for Christmas and Thanksgiving, and it never fails to impress. The secret is the Orange Blossom Honey I add, and I can't recommend it enough! – Absolutely the best! Not only delicious but fun to make.
INGREDIENTS:
12 oz. fresh cranberries if substituting frozen, just thaw first
1/4 cup fresh squeezed orange juice juice from about 1/2 an orange
1/3 cup water
1/2 cup honey I love to use my delicious Orange Blossom honey as it compliments the tart Cranberries
1 tsp. orange zest (zest of about 1/2 an orange) or sliced orange peel
METHOD:
Add the orange juice, water and honey and heat over a low heat until all melds together.
Stir for about 10 minutes.
You will notice that the cranberries pop.
Add the zest at the last moments.
Be sure to stir so it does not stick to pot and burn.
